Greetings from Jeff VanKanegan, owner/operator of JVK ART STUDIO. It's been a while since my post, due some health issues I've been dealing with. I am on the road to recovery and Excited about getting back to painting watercolor pet portraits!!! AND just in time to start Christmas commissions. I'll be posting a couple of my past portraits along with my flyer/pricing/options.

I feel this is a good time to advertise the other part of JVK Art Studio: Functional pottery and smoking related items. If you are interested in either of these, private message me and I'll send you a picture of what I have in stock, along with pricing. Of course you can custom order pottery items by sending a picture of what you have in mind and I will let you know if I am capable of creating that item. Unfortunately, turn around time for individual orders can be lengthy but I will try my best to hurry it along. Meet Snickers and Carmello. This customer contacted me to do a portrait of their "fur family" for a surprise Christmas gift to the rest of his family. The family is very attached to their fur babies and have needed a portrait to hang in their "family gallery". I was informed later that the customer was so excited and pleased with the portrait that he could not wait until Christmas to surprise the rest of the family! Happy ending!!! 🥰

Hello Facebook friends! I apologize for the time between posts. BUSY is my excuse...but I know that all of you are busy too. Below is Zelda, a portrait competed in 2020, but has an interesting story.

A teenage son wanted a specific breed of dog for a pet( I can't remember what breed Zelda is), so the father and son traveled to Arkansas to pick out a puppy. After they got home, the father and son enjoyed training Zelda together, and the process was a bonding experience for all. About a year later, the son tragically passed away in a 4-wheeler accident.🥲 The father, now the sole owner of Zelda, contacted me to paint Zelda in honor of his son, and the wonderful bonding experience he and his son had training Zelda. Although it is a sad story, I am honored to have a place in their relationship. As I paint each of my portraits, I feel very attached to the pet and the family that commissioned me.
