Update: We remain closed due to the sprinkler head that activated for no apparent reason, and repairs are in progress at Railroad Station. We are hopeful to reopen in one week, two at the most. Railroad Station will be closed temporarily while we make repairs due to a flooding issue in the building. Please check back here or watch for signs posted on the front door of the Station. We will be back better than ever as quickly as possible.

The City of Huntsville and Huntsville Historic Preservation Commission are featuring historic community spaces each week in May to celebrate Preservation Month and . This week will feature Huntsville’s important historic businesses.
The Lombardo Building is a historic former warehouse in downtown Huntsville. Built in 1922, the three-story brick structure is divided into three bays by four piers. The center and right bays each have a double entry door with transom and sidelights. Each bay is topped with three decorative corbels below a stepped parapet. The center of the parapet is marked with “LOMBARDO 1922”.
This area of Jefferson Street was known as “Grocery Row”, due to the number of grocery, vegetable and fruit warehouses on the block. The Lombardo Building first served as a wholesale grocery store, and in the 1970s, the brick building was use as a moving and storage company called “Red Ball Moving & Storage”.
Today, the Lombardo Building is home to Railroad Station Antiques & Interiors which opened there in 1983. The store has been owned and operated by members of the Dorning family since 2003. The Lombardo Building was listed to the National Register of Historic Places in 1980.
The City recognizes and celebrates the cultural, historical and economic contributions of local businesses like Railroad Station Antiques & Interiors.
