Some businesses start with an opportunity.

Others start with a moment that changes everything.

For Levi Alexander, it happened when something in his own family nearly cost him his wife while they had a very young child.

That experience reshaped how he saw the world — and his work.

When Levi told other attorneys he wanted to practice family law, they warned him:

“You’ll burn out.”

But he realized something important.

Family law wasn’t his passion.

Helping families was.

That difference changed everything about how he built his firm.

Create a business scorecard.

Ask yourself one simple question:

If I was on a deserted island and the only thing I received was this scorecard…

Would I know if my business was winning or losing?

Your scorecard should track the numbers that actually drive your business:

• Sales
• Marketing
• Operations
• Financial health
• Pipeline

Because what gets measured… actually gets managed.

At Rocket City Momentum, we love highlighting people doing meaningful work in our community.

This week we had the opportunity to sit down with Christy Hall from the American Cancer Society to talk about some of the incredible resources available to families facing cancer.

One that really stood out was Hope Lodge.

Located near UAB in Birmingham, Hope Lodge provides a place for patients and caregivers to stay while receiving treatment — completely free.

Meals are provided.
Rooms are available for as long as treatment requires.
And it offers comfort during what can be an incredibly difficult time.

For many families traveling for care, having a safe place to stay removes a huge burden.

Programs like this are a powerful reminder of how communities come together to support people when they need it most.

One of my favorite things about conversations with entrepreneurs is hearing their big goals.

The ones that make people pause for a second and say…

“Wait… really?”

In this clip, from shares one of hers:

A MAC Global jet.

Not just as a symbol, but as part of the lifestyle and vision she’s building.

And the funny thing is, once you say a goal like that out loud, people start asking about it.

“Are we taking the jet yet?”

That’s the power of declaring your vision publicly. It creates accountability, conversation, and momentum.

One of the most interesting things we’ve learned in business is this:

Some of your best referral partners might look like your competition.

In this clip, we talk about how collaboration works when everyone knows their lane.

For example, here at Rocket City Momentum we work with marketing firms all the time. Many of them are incredible at strategy and brand positioning.

What we want to be known for is video.

So instead of competing, we partner.

They bring the strategy.
We help execute the video and content.

It’s the same idea as a commercial cleaner and a residential cleaner. Similar industry, but different focus.

The best partnerships happen when people recognize:

“I can give you the work I don’t want, and you can give me the work you don’t want.”

That mindset creates incredible referral relationships.

Stop guessing your pricing.

Find someone already doing what you want to do —
and ask them.

Not competitors.
Peers in another market.

Learn their:

Pricing model

Business structure

Profitability strategy

How they actually use networking to grow

Clarity shortens the learning curve.
