Another beautiful piece from our talented potter Susan. The glaze work is stunning! The base layer is Snap Dragon, then dots of Running Hot Chowder, and then Textured Turquoise. I need to put my socks back on because this knocked them off. Beautiful work Susan!

Our group from Oak Grove Pottery had a great time at the Meijers Garden Wabi-Sabi Tea Set Workshop last Sunday. Not only did we craft Japanese style tea sets but we also got a tour of the Japanese Tea House, Japanese Gardens, and the Chihuly Blow Glass Art Exhibit.

Dale Chihuly is an American glass artist and leader of the studio glass movement, known for his large-scale installations and exhibitions that play with light, color, and form. His work has been featured in museums and public spaces worldwide, including the Louvre in Paris and the Victoria and Albert Museum in London.

Thank you to all our Oak Grove potters that participated in our pottery challenge. The challenge was creating planter pots and all our entries were beautiful and unique! Our winner was Susan (first photo), 2nd place went to Cindy (2nd photo) and 3rd place to Julie (3rd photo). Last photo is of all the entries. 1st place prize is one month of free studio rent and a 3D printed tool caddy (made & donated by Jelly). 2nd place prize is 25 lbs. of free clay and 3rd place is a fabulous Oak Grove Pottery T-shirt. Congratulations to the winners and all the participants for your beautiful work!

We had a blast with the Turtlehut Marketing group. Such a fun & friendly group of people. Thanks for choosing Oak Grove Pottery for your company event. They threw bowls on the wheel and hand built turtles. In case you are wondering, the upside down tipsy turtle is holding a margarita glass! Give us a call to schedule your own group event!

Saki anyone? Have a look at this beautiful Saki set from our potter Cheryl. The rims were stained and then Mayco Green Tea glaze applied over Amaco Honey Flux. I'm feeling Sushi & Ramin for dinner tonight!

Don't worry birds we have your backs! Blue birdhouse is from our potter Connie. Bird feeder is from Rosie and the birdhouse with orange roof is from Robin (no pun intended). You've made a lot of birds happy ladies!

Beautiful contrasting colors in this lidded vessel from our talented potter Susan! This has a base of honey flux under Spectrum's Bougainvillea. The brown/copper is Ancient Copper. Beautiful work Susan!
