Twelve years ago, a powerful vision was born, seated alongside four extraordinary women, Kaye Jones, Cassandria Gaines, Shanie Thepoet, and Sheryll Roberts, who shared a profound understanding that art heals, art creates safe havens for self-expression, and art can transform the world; thus, the I'm a Survivor seminar was ignited. In a humble church in Sunnyside, Houston, Pastor John H. Goodman Jr. courageously took a stand, believing in the seminar's potential to spark meaningful change. Now, twelve years later, we've had the privilege of touching hearts not only in Houston but across the United States, refusing to let the pandemic hinder us, instead embracing the virtual realm to reach thousands more.
