This fall, as HCCC marks 25 years of illuminating contemporary craft, Asher: Off the Wall proudly presents “The Candle Show,” exploring the ritual and material poetics of candlelight, bringing together artists who sculpt candelabras, holders, and wax-based forms, shaping light itself.

On view in our retail space, “The Candle Show” features work from a curated selection of artists working in clay, glass, and wax, including candleholders and candelabras by Gabo Martinez, Jessica Ninci, Meryl Pataky, and more!⁠

About Drippy Pots:
Brian Giniewski (Brian Giniewski) is the Philadelphia-based ceramic artist behind Drippy Pots. These vibrant, drip-glazed pieces unexpectedly went viral on Tumblr. Today, these “weirdos” (as they’re often called at Brian’s Philadelphia studio) are wheel-thrown and meticulously hand-glazed, infusing every pot with its own unique personality. More than just objects, they aim to capture the magical feeling of Brian’s first encounter with clay and provide a big, fat dose of joy!

There are only a few of Josh Ryan’s Candy Coated Slab pins left! Created for our Clutch City Collection, this enamel pin is inspired by Houston’s slab culture and features a hinged design with all the slab necessities: lots of chrome, elbows, a fifth wheel, and a trunk that pops to show off the sound system and neon underneath—and, of course, that signature candy-coated paint. 🚗🎶🔩

Grillz By Prince is a Houston-based jewelry studio specializing in bespoke teeth jewelry that celebrates individuality, artistry, and cultural expression. New Orleans–based, New York–raised Faye Kennelly () is a multimedia artist, board-certified art therapist, and educator. Often working with tinted porcelain, Faye creates intuitive, sensory-driven work, inviting curiosity and touch.
