"When Rhonda Russell, destitute and almost a felon, inherits the wildly successful Shangri-La RV Resort from her estranged granddaddy, all hell breaks loose! Her incensed first cousin Bambi Sue, thinking that she was going to inherit the resort, is hellbent, along with her snake-in-the-grass husband, on stealing the Shangri-La away from Rhonda.

All that, with a zany cast of characters, including a "special-brownie"-making granny, vying for attention as Hurricane Pete heads their way!

RHONDA RUSSELL……………… A woman in her 30's, hardened by life.

RALPH WARREN RUSSELL……...Rhonda's and Bambi Sue's deceased grandfather, 87 years old.

JIM BILL BLAKE………………….30'ish, ex-felon, Rhonda's tattooed boyfriend.

"GAMBY" MAE BROUSSARD…...Rhonda's 87-year-old maternal grandmother whose life turned around when she found the internet and another reason to live, by making special brownies.

PAT A. RILEY…………………......A lawyer in her late 40's, very efficient, Texas-proud, brilliant country girl.

KEVIN STEWART…………………The maintenance lady, late 30's, can fix anything,

BAMBI SUE CARTWRIGHT….......Rhonda's first cousin, 30's, a real piece of work.

WINSTON CARTWRIGHT……......Married to Bambi Sue Russell. 40-ish. He thinks she will inherit the RV resort. He is a total scoundrel, out for himself.

PHILIPPA " PIPPA" BERRY………An English woman in her mid 30's, who is trapped in this country because she has an 11-year-old daughter she adores and an ex whom she does not adore.

TWO POLICE OFFICER (S)………. one male, one female. Any age.

Great News. Just got a royalty check from Pioneer Drama for $813.69 for many performances of my YA show A MOTHER GOOSE COMEDY. MG has been performed all over the country and now internationally in Berne Switzerland. Woohoo!!! Coming up in June, 8 performances in St Louis Community College Bridgeton Missouri. My little annuity. Yay!!!

Breaking Out of Sunset Place closed on Feb. 10, 2019 after a 3 week, 16 performance run at Queensbury Theatre of Houston, a 250 seat equity theatre, It was a magical time. We had many sold-out performances, with audiences from all walks of life and ethnicity in attendance. People couldn't stop smiling. This comedy, sponsored by AARP, touched the heartstrings of so many people. Groups came in droves: Red Hat Society groups, AARP groups, church groups, retirement home groups and all types of networking groups. We had great word of mouth which lead to record-breaking ticket sales for a brand-new production. Thanks, Houston and Beaumont.
If you know of other theatres in other towns that you think might like to produce this show, please let me know.

Well, it's only 3 weeks away that my show Breaking Out of Sunset Place that previews Jan 24. at 7:30 pm. at Queensbury Theatre in Houston,
We have a 2 pm matinee Saturday the 26th
Opening night is Saturday Jan 26 at 8 pm.

We have a party bus coming from Beaumont to Houston on Sun. Jan 27 for the 2 pm matinee ...only $50 for the party bus and ticket.
That evening performance is Family and Friends Night at 7:30 pm. on Jan 27th

Thursday Jan 31 is Senior Citizen half price Day for the 2 pm matinee for only $25.00
Thursday night at 7:30 pm is the Pantheon of Women event.
