Twin Connection Duo

Derwin and Darwin Young (twins) were born September 3, 1956, raised in East St. Louis, Illinois and have emerged as outstanding musicians, songwriters and educators. At the age of 9, both Derwin and Darwin's interest in music began. This interest was cultivated while in attendance at Texas Southern University where they received their Bachelors of Arts Degree in Music Education. They were active participants in the jazz, symphonic, marching and performing bands. Derwin brings to the scene a blend of talents, which include piano, synthesizers, saxophone, digital wind saxophone and vocals. Darwin complements the duo with his versatile talents as well on piano, synthesizer, trumpet, flugelhorn, digital wind trumpet, and vocals. They began their professional career in 1976 as one of the founders of the high energy band "Family". Since that time TWIN CONNECTION has worked with several great bands in the Houston area such as "BACHELOR", "HOUSTON RAISIN REVUE", MYSTI DAY AND VISE VERSA", "FIRE AND DESIRE". They have performed in Japan, Singapore, Indonesia and throughout the United States. They are both elementary music teachers in the Houston public schools. Audiences have been enthusiastic as they share with others their love of music. Twin Connection provides quality dinner jazz to ensure a superb and sophisticated atmosphere at any event. The duo brings a new dimension to the usual performance. The repertoire is similar to the existing portfolio of classic standards but brings a warmth and excitement guaranteed to enthuse and delight. Featuring years of experience as professional musicians, the duo performs from an enormous repertoire spanning the legendary music of Miles, Grover, through to Jobim, Sade and Sinatra. With a library so vast, your guests can expect a varied or tailored performance to suit the occasion.
