Discover natural remedies that can make that itch subside!
Mosquitoes Still Bite!

It's warm enough to get an occasional mosquito bite, especially at home at night (who knows how the pesky insects get inside when there's a net on every window). The itch can be excruciating, not to mention the swelling, so here are a few simple natural remedies that can help with mosquito bites. Rub a fresh peppermint or parsley leaf onto the bite to reduce the swelling and relieve the itch. Baking soda paste is very effective as well. And the easiest remedy is a simple teaspoon! Just warm it up in hot water, press to the bite very tightly, and hold for several minutes.

I want to believe
Still think we're alone?{Learn the truth inside}

We seldom think about how unbelievable vast the universe is. The time has come to face the facts: the known universe is made up of 50,000,000,000 galaxies. A galaxy usually consists of 100,000,000,000 to 1,000,000,000,000 stars. In the Milky Way alone there might be as many 100 billion Earth-like planets. What are the chances that none of them has some forms of life?

Can Indoor Plants Be Bad?
Vampires: what if you've already let them in?

They say vampires cannot enter your home… unless you invite them to come in. They also say that some indoor plants can suck out your positive energy if you have them at home. Orchid, Swiss cheese plant, ferns, cedar, cypress, ornamental pepper, philodendron, bellflower, asparagus, chlorophytum, and grape ivy plant are all believed to be energy vampires. So, it is not recommended to have these plants in the bedroom, kids’ room, or any room where you and your family spend enough time, especially when absorbed in intellectual work. However, when grown in spacey public rooms like lobbies, they pose no hazard to emotional stability.

Egg-On-A-Sidewalk Recipe.
How hot it actually was, then?

Hot weather often makes us refer to an egg that can be cooked on the sidewalk. But how hot should it actually be to get a properly cooked sunny-side up? A popular trivia fact states the minimal egg-cooking temperature is 158°F. Enthusiasts carried out an experiment that involved a frying pan and a regular stove and discovered that the minimum temperature at which an egg could be cooked is 130°F, but it will take over 20 minutes. 130°F sounds more real (for Death Valley, but still), but even in that scorching heat the sidewalk might not heat up enough because it tends to be light-colored and thus reflects more heat than it absorbs, and concrete is a poor heat conductor, so not all the heat from the concrete would transfer to the egg. Moreover, once you crack the egg onto the sidewalk, the egg cools the sidewalk slightly. So, if you go hungry, try frying the egg on the hood of your car. Made of metal, it will make a much better heat conductor.

Your fingers get pruney for a reason.
This is what happens when you stay in the bath for too long.

You know the disgusting sight we're talking about, right? There is a hypothesis that states that, when you are, say, taking a bath, your body registers the water around and understands that all surfaces you might use to move around can be slippery in this moist environment. Then, it gives the skin of your hands and feet the unappetizing wrinkles with the sole practical purpose of improving your grip.

Counting steps.
How far I'll go? {Not only Moana wonders about that}.

Many people are now counting their steps to get more movement into their day. But not many have ever tried to count how far they will go if, say, they were covering a distance, not just pacing the floor. Let's do the quick math together: on average, a moderately active person takes about 7,500 steps every day. If we multiply that by, say, an 80-year-long lifespan, we'll get a distance of 216,262,500 steps covered. Considering that an average step is about one foot long, an average moderately active person will walk a distance of 110,000 miles in a lifetime – a round-the-world walk made five times! Can you imagine?

The groove that won't stop.
This will never let you forget your "Me and Mom" time!

Philtrum, the groove that runs from the middle of your upper lip to your nose, is a keepsake that will forever remind of the special time when you and your mother were a single whole. Two sides of your face were disconnected at first and then they grow and develop to meet in the middle, forming this tiny indent. In one out of every 750 births, the sides of the face fail to merge in the proper way, and the result of this is a cleft palate.
