My current work “reduces” the female figure to a basic shape inspired by the Woman of Willendorf. We can only estimate the ‘when’ and ‘how’ of this figurine, but looking at it today, to me it represents the beginning of “woman” without assumptions and expectations. Maybe a second chance for humanity to let ‘Woman’ be.

Through the work of multidisciplinary artist Angela Corson, this exhibition intends to raise critical consciousness and motivate individuals to acknowledge everyday injustices. Themes surrounding misogyny, violence, and human rights are continually explored within Corson’s work, and she has taken the conversation further with her art by also tackling subjects such as race and historical events. Overall, this exhibit seeks to have the viewer acknowledge and recognize the derogatory perception of women, consider its ripple effect and ultimately empower women to work together and advocate for change.

‘Procrastinating Selfie’ Sundays used to be painting day for me. It’s almost March and zero work. But I found a selfie stick….
New series. ‘Totem of Woman of Willendorf -num1- (2021)
I want to paint women without ornaments, striped her off of culture and language. I want to paint women from the beginning of humanity when beauty was manifested in the most basic and natural form. I want to paint strong women that are building a world, mothers of humanity, hunters, gatherers. Nomad women without nationality, viewed from the roots of the world we inhabit. Universal women without borders… I want to paint timeless women.
Last days of ‘The Glassell Connection’. - Figurative art in Houston - Make plans to visit before it closes on February 9! Showcasing present and former faculty (1st floor) and present and former students (2nd floor) of The Glassell Studio School. Artist and Dean Patrick Palmer wrote: ‘The figure. It pervades my art, my teaching,
my vision. I love it.
The human head is my primary inspiration.
How are people perceived through facial
expressions?
How do we view the illusion of power and
strength in others?
The figure speaks to me. I speak through
the figure.’
Very proud to be part of this ❤️.
“Just Around Midnight” Finally, she has a title!

The dark and light versions of the self can live together. We are not black and white, even though it would be easier to manage; it is the gray areas that make us unique.
