Our flagship initiative, Dorf Ketal Mango Cup Competition and Environment Conservation, was featured in an exclusive interview on Doordarshan Sahyadri on Friday, 16th October.
This recognition is a testament to our collective journey and impact:
Our Impact at a Glance:
Scale: Reached 197 villages across Maharashtra and planted 2,00,000 Kesar Mango saplings.
Livelihood: Converged with VB-G RAM G to generate wages worth Rs. 8 Crores, directly benefiting 2,300 unskilled rural labourers.
True People's Ownership: Over 60% + contribution from villagers themselves - a model rarely seen in any CSR program in the country. The immense participation of villagers, Panchayat Samitis, Zilla Parishads and local self-government bodies is the real secret of our success.
Innovation at the Grassroots:Villages have started earning from Year 1 itself through innovative intercropping in mango orchards - wheat, marigold, leafy vegetables, Moringa and more. Some have even succeeded in growing Kesar mango on hill slopes and transforming barren lands into productive assets - truly making barren land a heaven.
A Fresh Recognition:
We have another reason to celebrate. Shri. Vinayak Mahamuni, IAS, CEO, ZP Nagpur has issued an order sanctioning Rs. 3 Lakhs each for 3 years for maintenance, care and protection of mango orchards in 30 needy villages of Nagpur under our program. This is a huge validation from the Government. The Ministry of Panchayati Raj, GoI has also taken note of our extraordinary work.
This program has not only brought unutilized barren village land under cultivation but has also given villagers a new perspective - how to make their own resources productive for financial and environmental health.
We are deeply grateful to Subodh Sir, Founder & VC of Dorf Ketal, for his consistent support, guidance and his profound love for the environment and every flora and fauna.
It was a wonderful opportunity to share our journey and our mission for a greener future.
Please watch the interview and continue to extend your strongest support to our fruit tree plantation program - for Gram Panchayats that are financially secure, productive, and environmentally sensitive, and for a smile on the faces of our next generation.
