CONGRATULATIONS goes out to MACKENZIE HART!

Culture Arts Initiative is proud to congratulate Mackenzie Hart, recipient of the 2026-2027 Traci Greene Collegiate Dance Scholarship Award!

Mackenzie will be attending Sam Houston State University, where she will major in Dance and Psychology. After college, she hopes to become a high school dance director, sharing her knowledge, training, and experiences with the next generation of young dancers.

Mackenzie has been a valued dancer in our Houston’s Urban Nutcracker production for the past three consecutive years, and we are incredibly proud to have been a part of her artistic journey.

Mackenzie, we wish you the absolute best as you begin this exciting new chapter. Continue to dream big, work hard, and use your gifts to inspire others. We’ll be rooting for you all the way! 💛

Thank you! On behalf of Culture Arts Initiative and the entire Houston’s Urban Nutcracker staff, thank you to every single dancer who joined us for this year’s workshop and auditions!

Our hearts are full as we watched so many familiar faces return, dancers who have literally grown up in our production, built lifelong friendships, and continue to be a part of the Houston’s Urban Nutcracker family. At the same time, we were thrilled to welcome so many talented, hardworking, and passionate new dancers. The future is incredibly bright!

Houston’s Urban Nutcracker is more than a holiday production. It is Culture Arts Initiative’s largest annual fundraiser. Thanks to your continued support, we have been able to award more than $125,000 in scholarships to aspiring young dancers. Your patronage allows us to fulfill our mission of creating opportunities, removing barriers, and investing in the next generation of dancers.

To our phenomenal guest instructors, thank you for sharing your knowledge, artistry, and passion with our participants. It is always a privilege to collaborate with such gifted, professional, and genuinely kind individuals. Thank you for saying YES to Houston’s Urban Nutcracker!

A special thank you also goes to our 2025 Traci Greene Collegiate Scholarship Award recipients for volunteering your time and serving our dancers throughout the weekend. Your leadership and dedication made a lasting impact, and we are so grateful for each of you.
