We’re glad to be with a Perfoming Rights Organization like BMI that appreciates grassroots independent artists like The Flinns. If you’re not familiar with BMI they are the organization that ensure songwriters receive the royalties that we are entitled to - from Taylor Swift to the little guys like us. Valentine’s Day is coming up which means every jeweler, florist, chocolate maker, etc in the world is going to try and convince us that Feb 14th is THE DAY to show our partner how much we love them is by spending money! 💎💝🍫🌹

I’m not suggesting we shouldn’t splurge on our significant others from time to time but this idea that Feb 14th is the only day is just a marketing tactic. A lot of Americans are just struggling to get by and can’t afford the pampering right now. I’m here to tell you that’s ok. Forget what the world tries to tell you about love this week.

Faithfulness, kind words, affirmations, hugs, kisses, talking, romance, etc … the list goes on. It’s all free and yet worth more than anything money can buy.

Money is tight when you’re playing music for a living but we feel like the richest folks alive because of love. We get to chase this dream together - through the highs and lows.

Have y’all ever seen Twilight? I just watched it on the plane recently and it’s my new favorite movie. This pic was taken on the Quileute reservation in WA. Epic beach. No vampires…. but we did rent a surfboard from a guy named Chris that lived on a farm deep in the rainforest. He greeted us with fake teeth, a fart machine and dead frog around his neck. He threw a fake snake at Brittney and she didn’t flinch. He was full of life.

Good to be back at Double C2 ranch and find this memory on the coffee table! Blackbuck is some very fine meat. Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise. We’ve really enjoyed eating it this year. Ringing in the new year in the Texas hill country!!

Don’t let the Prada sunglasses, Polo tee and fresh Lacoste hat fool you - I was knocking on death’s door in these photos. My life revolved around drugs and I was a frequent flyer rewards member at several rehabs and jails around the state of Texas.

I’ve been living sober for a pretty good while now. I’ve never regretted it. Not once.

What you’re looking at is the first picture Brittney and I ever took. What you’re listening to is one of the first songs I ever wrote about her.

Today I set the song free from my Dropbox where many of my old songs sit and rot away even though they are fully produced and ready to roll. The songs in my Dropbox prison usually fall into one of two categories - a) I think they’re not good enough or b) I think they’re good but I don’t want to release them bc nobody will listen and what’s the point. The latter is a sad defeatist mindset I know. I’m a work in progress. ;)

ANYWAYS… yes, we are full-time as The Flinns and this Max Flinn song release is in no way a departure from that but rather an intro of sorts. This song lets you in on all the things I love about Brittney and what it’s like being married to an introvert. There’s a line in the song “her jokes are the best you’ve never heard, I can’t stop laughing”. I’m a slow processor but she is a quick witted hilarious person - an undercover comedian. She’ll whisper these jokes/puns under her breath and I’ll steal them because she’s too shy to say them out loud sometimes. It’s kinda the cutest thing ever… and I’m a thief I guess. She’s humble & kind. The most beautiful woman I’ve ever seen. The spotlight makes her uncomfortable but she’s more deserving of it than me that’s for sure!
