Thank you for sticking with me and I apologize for not showing a completed piece in sometime. Well guess what, I am doing it again. I keep putting away works that I have blocked in and start another. I promise I will get back to them. A pattern has taken hold of me, where I keep finding myself not content with what I am working on. So I move on to something new. This one will have a rainbow, that is something I have never attempted. This painting is a 24x48, it is larger than my standard fare.

Anyone who is trying to learn a trade or craft, there is usually a drive to do better. As an artist in training, I am looking for that next piece to be the one that is better. More often than not, I do not feel I achieved a higher level. Not just in maneuvering my paintbrush, but to be able to bring all the different elements together to create something more than just a pretty picture. So forgive me for jumping around on my paintings, but I am looking for that better piece. This is the beginning of another try.

Well, again I am accumulating incomplete paintings. All but one are block-ins, the one of the barn and California Poppies is almost complete. I am stuck on how to finish the foreground on that one. I do not know which direction I will go from here. I may go back to one of these or start another block in. I am waiting on some type of inspiration.
