Playing with new styles of painting

I was feeling a little uninspired that last month two and I really just couldn’t shake it. I tried dancing and nature walks and self care baths.

This week I have finally been able to really start moving around after a little ankle injury. I was able to do yoga and my meditation today was on point after. I really needed that yoga session to focus on my breathing and taking care of myself.

I have been listening to daily for a few months and the words in her music is just incredibly inspiring. I really have remembered how to love myself and my body. This painting is an ode to the female body. The chaos of trying to feel pretty in this backwards society. You can always been too thin or too big, too tall or too short. We are always comparing ourselves to others and it’s so unhealthy and unproductive. This painting is too remembering you are beautiful

Have you seen my latest piece? Summer Breeze

The days are longer and hotter, but the incredible feeling of that Summer Breeze on your fiery skin as you sit outside around the pool. This takes me back to my teenage summers working at camp. The memories and friends I made will last a lifetime and this acrylic fliud painting takes me right back to the sumer crushes and campfires. I had a lot firsts those many summers my first boyfriend and break up, my first underage drinks, but also my first group of friends that I could text or call when something was happening in my life. Friends I still message and keep up with in my 30's.

My soul craves the water. The crash of the waves and the sun on my skin with the faint smell of salt in the air. I remember spending a week in Cozumel with an amazing coworker and friend. We snorkeled and swam and laid out on the beach. That was such an amazing trip. I had never snorkeled and never seen such clear blue water. Living near Galveston our beaches are nice but nothing compared to that of Cozumel. I could see schools of fish 🐠 🐟🐡and a conch shell. Truly beautiful to be in nature in such a way. The sun hits the top of the water and creates a beautiful glitter of gold across the top of the water.

The last few years of my life have been revolutionary. I have grown and learned so much and shifted priorities. As 2022 moves along I am continuously reminded of the effects of global warming and the state of our environment.
