I woke up this morning feeling heavy from the weight of the world and too many things that I don’t need to pay attention to.
It’s not that world events aren’t important, but I’ve let them drag me down and consume me for far too long,
So I’m stepping back and refocusing on the things that bring me joy and make me feel alive.
They’re not always big events or milestone moments-
Often, they’re the little things that fill my soul.
Turning up the music and dancing in the kitchen.
Taking a drive to nowhere with the windows down and wind blowing through my hair.
Just drinking a cup of happiness outside and watching the heart of nature blossoming.
I’ve decided to stop being wrapped up in being online, staying on screens and following everything that shows up to steal my joy.
I’m taking some me time, maybe for a long time if I think I need it.
I’m reconnecting with my people, telling the ones that matter that I love them and spending time with friends and family.
Enjoying the beauty of the moments all around me, being present and falling in love with the life I’ve built…
Those are the quiet pleasures that I need, want and deserve.
All the negativity, news and hysteria can find someone else to occupy.
I’m busy doing the things that make me happy.
Finding my way through my days, taking my victories where I can find them and making peace with the challenges that face me.
I’ve got a strong spirit and hopeful heart, so I know I’ll end up where I’m meant to be.
Only now, I’m choosing a journey of love, peace and contentment.
After all, it’s not just about living my life anymore.
Now, I’ve decided to enjoy my life too.
With a smile on my face and happiness in my heart,
I can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings.

If you want to truly know who I am, don’t ask me about where I’ve been or the things I’ve seen or done.
I’ll gladly share my journey with you- the wonders, the miracles and all the bad stuff in between.
But that doesn’t begin to capture the true depths of my essence.
No, I’m not defined by where I’ve been or the struggles that shaped me..
My soul is deeper and older than just places and things.
Ask me instead about the music that got me through the times when nothing else could.
The beautiful tapestry of lyrics and melodies that permeated my soul and instilled hope in my spirit.
Those feelings that inspired me to get up, dust myself off and rise again are the core of everything I am.
In fact, even now, I often find that music helps me find the words that escape me for my current triumph, mood or obstacle .
No matter how hard my day has been or where life has led me, it just seems that the right song transports me to a different place..
One of happiness, hope and courage.
Maybe it’s only for a few minutes, but in that precious time, I feel like I can do anything, be anything, conquer anything.
Those times in my life when I was at my lowest, I always had music..
To lift me up, to help me breathe again, to know that everything was going to be okay.
My whole world could feel like it was ending, but there was always a song that could fill my soul with passion and help me through those struggles.
So, if you want to uncover my secrets and learn my truths, don’t start with the ordinary adventures that just tell you where I’ve been.
Listen to the songs of my soul, and you’ll forever understand...
