This week's featured artist is Zeitgeist/The Reivers, an American pop band. Formed in Austin, Texas as Zeitgeist in 1984, the group changed its name in 1987 after another band claimed prior rights to the name. Taking their new name from the title of the William Faulkner novel, The Reivers would go on to release four albums throughout the late 80s and early 90s. Though well received critically, the band never achieved much commercial success.

This week's featured artist is Shadowy Men On A Shadowy Planet, a Canadian instrumental rock band, formed in 1984. They're probably best known "Having an Average Weekend", which was used as the theme to the sketch comedy television show "The Kids in the Hall." Formed in 1984 by Brian Connelly (guitar, keyboards, and backing vocals), Don Pyle (drums and backing vocals), and Reid Diamond (bass and sometimes vocals), the group released a string of EPs and singles throughout the late 80s and early 90s. They disbanded in 1996. Diamond passed away in 2001. The remaining members regrouped in 2012, adding in Dallas Good of the Sadies on bass to play live in Calgary and Toronto. Since Good's sudden death in 2022, the band has been on hiatus.

This week's featured artist is Divine Horsemen, an American punk/roots band founded in 1983 by former Flesh Eaters founder Chris D. Along with his then wife Julie Christensen, the group developed an alt country sound that was new for its time. The band broke up in 1988 after releasing a handful of albums and singles. They reunited three decades later going on to release "Hot Rise of An Ice Cream Phoenix" (2021) and "Bitter End of a Sweet Night" (2023). We'll take a spin through some tracks from their original run in the 80s.

This week's featured artist is Terry de Castro, founding member of Goya Dress (1995 to 1996) and former member of both the Wedding Present and Cinerama. She joined Cinerama in 1998 for a concert and Peel Session. This subsequently turned in a 12-year involvement both Cinerama and the Wedding Present, performing on several tours and albums. Originally from Minneapolis, de Castro is now based in Los Angeles. We'll take a spin through her brief, but engaging discography.

This week's featured artist is Paula Frazer, American singer-songwriter. Frazer grew up in Georgia and Arkansas before moving to San Francisco in the early 1980s. She first came to notice as the lead singer of Tarnation in the 1990s and would later go on to work with Cornershop, Sean Lennon, Tindersticks, and the Czars. She was also briefly the lead vocalist for Faith No More at live shows between 1983 and 1984. We'll take a spin through some of both her solo work and with Tarnation.
