☘️ March is officially Irish American Heritage Month in North Carolina! ☘️

We’re proud to share that Governor Josh Stein has proclaimed March 2026 as Irish American Heritage Month across our state, recognizing the deep roots and lasting impact of Irish and Scots-Irish heritage in North Carolina.

From early settlements and Appalachian traditions to the music, storytelling, and culture that still shape our communities today, Irish Americans have played an important role in the history and identity of our state.

We’re grateful to see this heritage formally recognized and encourage everyone to take a moment this month to reflect on the many ways Irish culture and history have helped shape North Carolina. Sláinte! ☘️

Many people don’t realize this, but most St. Patrick’s Day parades across our country — and here in North Carolina — are not funded by cities or municipalities.

These parades are organized by volunteers and community groups, and the costs add up quickly: permits, insurance, police details, barricades, staging, sound, sanitation, and more. Putting on a safe, family-friendly parade is no small or inexpensive task.

That’s why fundraisers are essential. Every raffle ticket sold, fundraiser attended, or sponsorship secured goes directly toward keeping these traditions alive in our communities.

If you’ve ever enjoyed a St. Patrick’s Day parade — cheering along the route, bringing your family, or marching with friends — please consider supporting a local parade fundraiser. It truly makes the parade possible year after year.

☘️ Upcoming North Carolina Parade Fundraisers:

• Raleigh St. Patrick’s Day Parade Fundraiser
📍 Edit Brewery
🗓 Saturday, Feb 21 | 2–6 PM

• Wilmington St. Patrick’s Day Parade – Hooley Under the Bridge
📍 Waterline Brewing
🗓 Saturday, Feb 28 | 11:30 AM–6 PM

You can also support online:

Wilmington Parade: Venmo

Thank you to everyone who donates, sponsors, volunteers, and shows up to support Irish culture and community across North Carolina. ☘️

A house concert—a small gathering that echoes an old Irish tradition.
Just like the Céilí nights once held in cozy cottages across Ireland, this concert will bring people together for music, stories, and that unmistakable warmth you can only find in a shared room.
