In this fast-paced adaptation, Scrooge is a Hilo businessman who has spent a lifetime putting money before people—and Christmas before nobody. But on one unforgettable Christmas Eve, the spirits of Christmas Past, Present, and Yet to Come take him on a journey through Hilo’s past, present, and possible future, forcing him to confront the choices that shaped his life and discover what it really means to be part of a community.

With lightning-fast character changes, playful storytelling, outrageous comedy, local references, and a talented cast bringing the whole town to life, the show is a joyful Christmas celebration Hilo style. Expect familiar Dickens characters with a local twist, a little holiday chaos, and plenty of aloha.

The Trial of the Wicked Witch

October 10 at 6:00 PM & October 11 at 2:30 PM at The Keawe Theater

Tickets available at hiloplayers.org

What happens when a wicked witch gets put on trial? Magic, mayhem, music, and a whole lot of laughs!

As part of Hilo Community Players’ Rising Stars Fall Break Musical Theatre Intensive, young performers will take on the incredible challenge of learning and staging a full musical in just ONE WEEK!

From auditions and character development to singing, dancing, acting, costumes, and performance, students will work together to bring The Trial of the Wicked Witch to life.

This hilarious fairy-tale comedy features witches, witnesses, courtroom chaos, and plenty of surprises—all performed by our talented young Rising Stars!

The Wicked Witch has finally been caught and hauled into the Court of Once Upon a Time—but is she really guilty? Accused of casting spells, attempting to poison Snow White, kidnapping Rapunzel, and trying to eat Hansel, the Witch must face a courtroom filled with familiar fairy-tale characters. Little Red Riding Hood leads the prosecution, the Evil Stepmother takes on the defense, and the Fairy Godmother presides as judge. As witnesses take the stand and their stories begin to unravel, the case becomes more ridiculous with every testimony. Come see how the trial ends!

Spring Awakening played its last performance this past weekend to packed houses of excited audiences!

Our little town of Hilo showed big support for this production and we cannot thank our community enough for showing up and supporting, even in the midst of a storm.

We would like to especially send an enormous mahalo to the wonderful cast, crew, band, and creative team of Spring Awakening for all of your hard work and talents! This was an incredible telling of such a tragic and beautiful story, and we are proud to have gotten to put this story on our mainstage at the Keawe Theater.

We look forward to what’s coming next to our stage and we will see you very soon!
