The Silver Lining Ensemble

The Silver Lining Ensemble The Silver Lining Ensemble is a string ensemble of Hillsboro Symphony Orchestra musicians. Based out of Hillsboro, Oregon.

Their programs range from Baroque and Classical eras to Argentine tangos, folk and Irish music. The Silver Lining Ensemble is a classical string ensemble based in the Hillsboro area. Four violins pass beautiful, ornamented melodies back and forth while the bass provides steady rhythm until the tables are turned and the bass is given the chance to shine with deep, rich solos. Composers highlighted

in the past have included Mozart, Handel, Sterkel and Schwindel. The Silver Lining Ensemble was formed when the Hillsboro Symphony Orchestra, of which they are all members, was shut down due to COVID (hence the name). They found that they all really enjoyed playing together and were excited to see what they could accomplish. Each member has many years of experience performing in orchestras and there are varying levels of experience performing in small groups amongst the members. Recently they were invited to play a 20 minute set at the Walter’s Cultural Center. People commented that the music was interesting and lively but still at its heart very soothing. Now the ensemble is looking to expand their repertoire and find more places to share their love of music with audiences.
