1001 Colors and Pones are teaming up for a unique paid apprenticeship that brings visual art to life through dance. We’re seeking 8 apprentices to collaborate on an original performance inspired by Commons, the vibrant downtown Cincinnati mural designed by .sikander.
Over 10 weeks, apprentices ages 14-21 years old will work alongside professional dancers, artists, and activists to explore themes of identity, power, autonomy, and being seen and heard. Together, the group will research and prepare a final public performance that will premiere during 2026 — the nation’s largest public art and light festival.
No prior dance training is required. Dancers and movers of all skill levels are encouraged to apply.
We sre looking for young people who are curious, collaborative, creative, and excited to express themselves through movement and performance.
Interested students can apply via the link found in our bio by 11:59pm July 5th.
