Last year’s “Space Aliens” theme was so much fun that we decided a redo was in order. However, to make things a wee bit different and creep out all of our clown-hating fans, we’re adding a slight twist. This year’s theme will be “The Historic Herndon Halloween House Haunted Cosmic Space Carnival.” The aliens and clowns will be having a grand ol’ time together, enjoying all of this year’s carnival
attractions. If all goes well, expect to see our fan-favorite clown carousel once again, along with a tunnel of love display, featuring our much-beloved pirate ship. Also on the list of attractions will be our UFO, a ticket booth, a fortune teller, a kissing booth, a skeleton animal petting zoo, and so much more. Even our “famous” Bengal cat pets, both past and present, will be featured in this year’s front patio display. And while this year’s Halloween attractions are solely for the aliens and clowns, y’all are still more than welcome to walk by and enjoy the carnival displays. This year, there are so many little details that you're really going to want to see in the daytime. Certain displays are more visible during the day and others are best seen at night, so make plans to come in the early evening, before the sun goes down, to see everything in the daylight and then take a short stroll through The Town of Herndon and dine at one of its great local restaurants. After dinner, when The Halloween House lights have come on, come back for another look in the dark. There is plenty of free parking in Herndon’s Town Lot. The Historic Herndon Halloween House isn’t just a night-time display, so make sure to visit us in the daytime for more kid-friendly interactive fun. On our fence, you’ll find several games and interactive activities, including a Haunted Cosmic Space Carnival Word Search, What's Your Alien Name, several scan codes to learn more about our displays, and even two haunted doorbells children can ring to hear several creepy sayings. And, while you’re here, don’t forget to search for our Killer Klown from Outerspace., who will be hidden in a new spot each day in the display. Please keep in mind that this is an outside-only private residence attraction. It is also a display that you will need to walk to. A drive-by viewing isn't going to allow you to see everything and since the house is located on a busy street you will most likely irritate other drivers on the road if you slow down or stop. Please, please, please park somewhere safe and legal and then walk to the house to get a better look. Feel free to take pictures, however, we kindly ask that you DO NOT ENTER the yard at any time or touch any of the displays. Please enjoy the displays from a safe distance so that everyone can have an enjoyable experience. We also ask that you please don’t park in the middle of the road, on the curb, or in any local home-owner driveways. We highly suggest parking in the town lot and walking to see the display. It’s a short walk and it won’t cause our neighboring community any added stress. Herndon is a very walkable town. Take the opportunity to check out the historic homes and the lovely small neighborhoods, or visit one of its many restaurants. Thanks in advance and if you have any special circumstances that require a different way to view the display, please feel free to reach out. Please keep your safety and the safety of others in mind when driving down Spring Street or standing or walking on its sidewalks. We truly want everyone to have a great, safe, spooky, and fun-filled experience. SUPPORT HERNDON
