I am super thrilled to introduce my dear friend Shanti Shanti Kaur and the team at the Guru Ram Das Center for Medicine and Humanology. We recently spoke about the extraordinary work they are doing around the world with Kundalini Yoga as applied therapy and how it works for treatment of many different health conditions. The big question I had was, how is this different from the yoga I’ve been practicing all these years? The answer is that standard yoga practices are intended and are great for prevention. The difference with therapeutic Kundalini Yoga is that it’s specifically designed for treatment of existing conditions for everything from debilitating aches and pains to mental health, chronic illness, immune disease and much more. Begun in 1986 during the AIDs epidemic, and backed by scientific research and clinically demonstrated outcomes, I learned this therapeutic approach is an invaluable complement to anyone’s yoga practice or method of teaching if they are a yoga teacher. And I got truly excited to share all this with you!
