This is the view from our bungalow on the island of Mo’orea in French Polynesia. 6x12 watercolor. I think I might add some more variety to the clouds when it dries.
Tales from the vacation painter! Mt. Otemanu is the crown jewel of Bora Bora. I painted from the stairs to the coral garden. Second painting is from a photo of the purple lotus in the pond by the spa on a rainy day. 9x12 watercolor WIP

The 78th Annual Show and Sale of the Loudoun Sketch Club, Loudoun County’s oldest arts organization, will open November 1st at the Franklin Park Arts Center. “Showing Off! will be a wonderful display of local plein-air and studio works.
“While “sketch” is in our name, member artists work in oil, pastel, watercolor, mixed-media and even sculpture,” explains Club President Pat Whittle. “And, since this is our first large public show in three years, a spectacular selection of art will be on display.”

In addition to having the opportunity to meet the artists, guests will be able to purchase a work of art, vote for their favorite work, and enjoy light refreshment while browsing the show. A Closing Reception is scheduled for Sunday, November 13th from 4pm - 5:30pm.
“Showing Off!” Runs from November 1st - November 13th in the main gallery of the Franklin Park Arts Center located at 36441 Blueridge View Lane Purcellville, open from 9am - 5pm Monday - Friday. The gallery will also be open some evenings when a performance is scheduled.
The show will also be available to be viewed online at the LSC’s website https://loudounsketchclub.com/. The
show page will go live beginning Nov 1st and we will update this listing with the direct live link on that date.

I participated on my first even Plein Air painting competition yesterday. We had specific city block parameters to paint within and a brief 2 hour time frame. It was extremely hot but I had fun and was happy with my work. “I wanna go to the Pub” 18x24 oil on canvas. Available.special thanks to my husband Thomas Berg for going along to help me and supporting me as always. 🥰
