🐾🎨 **Inktober 2026 – C Is for Cardigan Welsh Corgi!**

The third drawing in my Lexicon Lands A–Z dog breed challenge is finished!

This illustration features the Cardigan Welsh Corgi, known for its short legs, long body, and large upright ears.

I created it using mechanical pencil, kneaded eraser, a watercolor brush for gray tones, black and white ink applied with a dip pen, and an acrylic paint pen for the finishing details.

This drawing is part of a larger original composition containing six dog breeds, B through G. The Corgi illustration is available separately as an art print without the border.

Next on the list is D for Dalmatian!

🐶✒️ **INKTOBER 2026 – B IS FOR BULL TERRIER!** 🖤🤍

My Inktober 2026 journey through **Lexicon Lands** continues with the second drawing in my A–Z Dog Breed Art Challenge!

This time, I'm featuring the **Bull Terrier**, a breed known for its distinctive egg-shaped head, pointed ears, and playful personality! 🐾

🎨 **How I Created This Artwork:**

I started with a mechanical pencil and kneaded eraser before moving on to black and white ink with a dip pen. I used a watercolor brush to apply grey ink shading and an acrylic paint pen to create the border.

After finishing the traditional drawing, I used **Snapseed and Procreate** for some digital touch-ups!

🃏 **A Little About Lexicon Lands:**

I'm creating 27 dog breed illustrations for this year's Inktober challenge, and I plan to transform them into playing-card-inspired artwork!

Each dog breed will have its own individual art prints. However, the physical originals for letters B through Y will be grouped on four sheets featuring six drawings each.

The Akita, Zerdava, and wildcard Valor the Swiss Shepherd will each have their own standalone originals!

🐕 Inktober 2026: A Is for Akita! 🖋️

My journey through Lexicon Lands has officially begun!

For Inktober 2026, I’m creating an A–Z series of dog breeds, with 27 original drawings planned in total. The first is this black, white, and gray Akita Inu.

I created the original using a mechanical pencil, kneaded eraser, India ink with a dip pen, a watercolor brush for the gray tones, and acrylic paint for the border and signature. I then used Snapseed and Procreate to prepare the artwork digitally.

Most of the upcoming drawings will be created six to a sheet and shared primarily as posts. Once all 27 are finished, I plan to make a slideshow video bringing the complete Lexicon Lands collection together.

🎨 New Artwork & Blog: No Job Too Big

My latest artwork for The Biography of Earl Dewey Fisher is now finished!

No Job Too Big was inspired by Chapter 5 of the preserved life story of my great-great-grandfather, Earl Dewey Fisher. In this chapter, Earl remembers his father as an energetic, hardworking man who farmed and took whatever work he could find to support his large family.

One sentence became the inspiration for the artwork:

“No job was too big or hard for him to try and do it.”

The original artwork is an ACEO measuring only 2.5 × 3.5 inches, created on Bristol paper with mechanical pencil, colored pencil, India ink pen, fineliner pen, and acrylic paint pen. I also used a kneaded eraser during the drawing process before editing the online image with Snapseed and Procreate.

🐴🎨 Earl Meets Barney is finished!

My newest artwork for The Biography of Earl Dewey Fisher is complete!

Earl Meets Barney was created for Chapter 4 of History of Earl Dewey Fisher, the preserved life story of my great-great-grandfather, Earl Dewey Fisher.

This chapter introduces Barney, the family's clever cutting horse. Earl learned to ride when he was young, although his first experience was pretty intimidating. His brother lifted him onto a great big horse, and Earl remembered being so scared that he simply sat there and cried.

Eventually he learned to ride—and Barney became one horse he would never forget!

Barney was gentle but full of tricks. He could grab someone's pant leg to stop them from climbing onto him, step aside when someone tried jumping onto his back, untie himself, and even use his lips to open the hook on the barn door! 🐴

🎨 I created the original as an ACEO, using mechanical pencil, watercolor pen, India ink pen, and acrylic paint pen. I also used a kneaded eraser and artist tape, with Da Vinci Eye helping me trace the initial outline. After finishing the physical artwork, I edited the digital version with Snapseed and Procreate.

This project continues to give me a way to preserve Earl's history through artwork, one chapter and one memory at a time.

Next stop: another chapter of Earl's story!

🐺🐾 The Vigilant Wolfdog — My Final Dogust 2026 Artwork!

My Dogust 2026 journey has officially reached its final artwork!

Meet The Vigilant Wolfdog, my mixed-media portrait of a Czechoslovakian Wolfdog. I wanted to capture the breed's alert, wolf-like appearance, especially its upright ears, focused expression, and striking coat.

I created this piece using a mechanical pencil, kneaded eraser, watercolor pen, India ink pen, and acrylic paint pen. After finishing the traditional artwork, I edited it using Snapseed and Procreate.

This artwork is especially meaningful because it officially brings my Dogust 2026 artwork to a close. The challenge didn't end exactly as I originally planned, but I'm glad I was able to explore so many different breeds and create a collection of new dog artwork along the way.

🐾 New Dogust Artwork — The Watchful Tsvetnaya!

My latest Dogust 2026 piece is finished! The Watchful Tsvetnaya features a Russian Tsvetnaya with an alert expression that ultimately inspired the title of the artwork.

I created this mixed-media portrait using a mechanical pencil, kneaded eraser, watercolor pen, India ink pen, and acrylic paint pen. After finishing the traditional artwork, I edited it with Snapseed and Procreate to prepare it for prints and online display.

One thing I’ve enjoyed about Dogust is getting the chance to draw dog breeds that people may not encounter as often. The Russian Tsvetnaya adds another unique breed to my growing collection of dog portraits.

Meet The Resolute AmStaff, my mixed-media American Staffordshire Terrier portrait created for Dogust!

I made this artwork with a mechanical pencil, kneaded eraser, watercolor pen, and acrylic paint pen. After completing the traditional drawing, I edited it with Snapseed and Procreate to prepare it for its final presentation.

I chose the word “resolute” because it reflects the determination, confidence, and unwavering loyalty associated with the American Staffordshire Terrier. I wanted the portrait to celebrate the strength of the breed while also recognizing the affectionate companion behind its powerful appearance.

🎨🐾🌸 PAWS, PETALS & POSSIBILITIES — NEARLY SEVEN YEARS OF MY ART IN ONE COLLAGE!

I’m excited to share my completed 2026 art collage, Paws, Petals & Possibilities, featuring artwork I created from October 2019 through July 2026!

Looking at everything together is like seeing nearly seven years of my artistic journey all at once. There are plenty of dogs and flowers throughout the collage, but you’ll also find landscapes, fantasy artwork, characters, family-history illustrations, abstract pieces, art challenge creations, and other experiments from throughout the years.

The individual artwork was created using Procreate, watercolor, acrylic, India ink, colored pencil, charcoal, alcohol marker, fineliner pen, and mixed media. I then used GIMP to bring everything together into the finished collage.

There are even a few pieces included that I never previously uploaded online, primarily drawings from Dogust 2024!

🐾 Paws represents the dogs and animals that have become such a major part of my artwork.

🌸 Petals represents my flower and botanical artwork.

🎨 Possibilities represents everything else I’ve explored—and all of the creative possibilities still ahead.

Since completing the collage, I’ve also turned sections into new social media banners, created a slideshow showing the artwork being added, written a full behind-the-scenes blog post, made the artwork available through The Artistic Shepherd, and created a 16-product merchandise collection!
