I know love is a lot to handle: the ups and downs, wanting to be right when you're wrong. Feeling the need to be understood on a level that's deeper than the surface, but love is the most wonderful thing in this world; it's the only thing that makes sense. Love gives us a sense of wonder and purpose. Oh, to love. Oh, to be loved.

Her mind runs many miles an hour.
Her lips crave the taste of freedom.
Her hands cry for the feel of justice and equality.
Her eyes sought after better days.
Her ears waited for the bells of peace to ring.
The surface of her skin waited to be accepted.
Her heart cried for the love she gave unconditionally.
Who was she?
A woman of color.
