P.A.C. UPDATE
This past March marked two years since construction began on the Hemlock Performing Arts Center. After countless hours of planning, designing, building, adjusting, and preparing, we are excited to open the doors to our community on Tuesday, August 18.
Our Open House and guided tours will continue as planned from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM, along with food trucks and our outdoor gathering areas from 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM. We will also have Hemlock legend Carl Gippert on site helping us celebrate this milestone at some point during the tours.
And if people are still waiting for a tour at 5:00 PM, we will keep going. We want everyone who comes out Tuesday to have an opportunity to see this incredible new space.
There is, however, one important change to our plans.
Due to the current pace of final construction and preparation, we are pausing Tuesday evening's ticketed performance and program.
We were preparing for a capacity crowd, and with that many students, families, staff, performers, and community members expected inside the facility at one time, we need to be certain that everything is exactly where it needs to be.
The safety and well-being of our students, staff, families, performers, and guests will always be our highest priority.
We know many people were looking forward to Tuesday evening, and so were we. The performances will come. The celebrations will continue. There will be plenty of opportunities to fill those 670 seats and experience what this facility was built to do.
For Tuesday, we are going to open the doors, welcome our community, give tours, share some food, celebrate how far we have come, and give everyone a firsthand look at what has been more than two years in the making.
The show will go on. We are simply making sure the stage is ready.
We look forward to seeing you Tuesday.
