Unicoi Lake, North Georgia Mountains. // Last week I had the opportunity to spend several days in the mountains during peak leaf season, photographing for several wonderful clients, creating new marketing and tourism photography. From wineries to fly fishing, cityscapes to potters, a pure dream. Long days, many miles, forever grateful.

Several years and hundreds of miles tromping through the coastal south in search of some of the best oyster tabby structures and the stories behind the people, place and time… “Following the Tabby Trail”, out summer 2022 from . Tabby Trail spans St. Augustine to Charleston, reuniting me with dear friend and author Jingle Davis for storytelling unlike any other, where coastal history is captured in unique oyster-shell structures.

A classic example of Colonial Georgia Tabby, the Horton house on Jekyll Island is one of the oldest tabby buildings in the state. It was constructed in 1743 by William Horton, who also built the first brewery in the south, because beer was safer to drink than water. I’ll cheers to that!🍻 // From “Following the Tabby Trail”, soon from (summer 2022)

Strategically positioned alongside the Ashley River in the Low Country of South Caroline is the Tabby Fort at Colonial Dorchester Historic Site. Constructed in 1757, it’s one of the most well-preserved tabby forts in the country. About 30 miles inland from Charleston, Dorchester was once a mecca for trade, life and community, boasting an annual fair, a free school and home to 40 families. // From “Following the Tabby Trail”, soon from (summer 2022)

Just in! The Georgia Writers Association awarded ‘Cumberland’ winner in the Specialty Category for the Georgia Author of the Year! A lot of hard work, sweaty nights sleeping with mosquitos and cold mornings chased by horse and hog went into these photographs. I’m so glad they are being enjoyed. A HUGE thanks to and everyone who supported this book and project, I am honored.
