It's a beautiful day at the Helen Christmas Market. I'm right by the burbling waterfall fountain, so it's a pleasant place to be. I'll be here this weekend and next weekend.

I love working in black and white. Takes a stupid long time to do, though.

Once the body of the vessel is formed, I paint half with black underglaze. I use fine blades to carve through the black to expose the white clay beneath. On the parts that are still white, I continue the illustration by drawing with black underglaze like you would pen and paper.

These pieces are currently at the Helen Arts and Heritage Center in north Georgia.
