Smoke-free casinos are much less likely to call an ambulance

America's casinos are the few public indoor establishments where smoking was officially allowed. This fact makes casinos excellent testing grounds for studying the effects of cigarette smoke on active and passive smokers.

Researchers from the University of California, San Francisco, studied the impact of banning to***co smoking in gambling establishments. The results were very predictable: in Colorado, ambulance calls to casinos have dropped by as much as 20 percent since the ban officially went into effect in 2008.
