This one hits close to home.
With the recent news that Wild West Festival will be coming to an end, along with several other independent and nonprofit festivals across the Midwest that have closed their doors in recent years, we’ve been thinking a lot about what it takes to keep something like Lovegrass going.
We’re heading into Year 10 of Lovegrass...something we are incredibly proud of. And we’re doing it with our biggest budget and what we believe will be our biggest lineup yet.
That’s exciting. It’s also a little scary.
The reality is that community festivals don’t just exist. Every year, someone has to figure out how to pay for the artists, production, insurance, infrastructure and a hundred other things most people never see. Costs continue to rise, and nonprofit festivals like ours depend heavily on grants, sponsors, donors, volunteers and the people who simply decide, year after year, “This matters. I want this to keep happening.”
For nine years, you have done that for Lovegrass.
Our sponsors. Our grant funders. Our Sustainers and donors. Our volunteers. The businesses that help us. The artists who believe in what we're building. And every single person who makes the trip to Wilson Lake and chooses to support this weird little festival in the middle of Kansas.

Seeing festivals disappear, especially one right here in our own community, is a reminder that none of this is guaranteed.
As we head into Year 10, we’re dreaming bigger than we ever have. And we need our community to keep dreaming with us.
Come to the festival. Register. Donate if you're able. Become a Sustainer. Volunteer. Sponsor us. Tell your friends. Come to our year round events. Support the businesses that support Lovegrass. Donate to the foundations that help fund Lovegrass.
Because the best way to make sure the things we love are still here tomorrow is to support them today.
