From previous post: I was watching Planet Earth III and was introduced to an amazing animal - the pearl octopus. The pearly purple hues caught my eye, but their story is even more intriguing. After laying their eggs, the pearl octopus mothers brood and guard their clutch for two years without feeding. Gently cleaning, oxygenating, and protecting their eggs until the last baby swims away. With her watch over, she perishes from exhaustion. Okay, that part is sad.

But still, I have the urge to paint a pearl octopus! I've got a few reference images and decided I would use this unfinished cloudy nebula as her background.

I'm hoping to do her justice in honor of all the exhausted moms out there! 💜🐙💜

I was watching Planet Earth III and was introduced to an amazing animal - the pearl octopus. The pearly purple hues caught my eye, but their story is even more intriguing. Work in Progress! Open to suggestions for this Art Nouveau style piece!

I don't really know where I'm going with this one. I'm planning to work more briar roses into the frame and jewels at the top.

Who or what should be in the center? 🤔
