Part one of the project: hand-painted cotton paper envelopes, each featuring a watercolor clue to the destination country.

These envelopes were created for a group of friends who reunite every year in a different corner of the world. Before the trip was revealed, each guest received a watercolor hint of where they would be heading next.

I’m honored to be part of this beautiful tradition for the second year in a row and can’t wait to share the rest of the project✨

Cape Cod Whale 🐋

This whale is a collection of favorite Cape Cod places and little details that make the Cape feel like home.

Look closely and you’ll spot some Cape Cod favorites: wooden whale carvings, a local fish market (because what would Cape Cod be without one?), a beloved bookstore, and one of those beautiful old barns I always find myself admiring as I drive by. These are the kinds of places and details that become part of our memories of a place.

One of my favorite things about creating custom whales is including the places that mean something to people. A favorite beach, a family tradition, a local landmark, or a spot you’ve returned to year after year. Each whale becomes a collection of memories and stories that are uniquely yours.

In May, after Sweden, I spent 3.5 days in Amsterdam and the surrounding area. The architecture and atmosphere were stunning! Sunset was at 9:30 pm, so I managed to see a lot and even draw. I had a list of 3-4 museums and a walk planned in advance. In the end, I managed to visit three more towns and two more museums, which I learned about on the way to these places🤭 and all without rushing! It felt like Amsterdam was adding hours to the day!

Three daughters and “Three Sisters” lighthouses, the shared family hobby, favorite colors, the places they return to year after year. This whale brings together the family’s values, traditions, and what truly matters to them.
