The Movement & Co. Dance and Performing Arts was established in 2010. We are located in Harrisonville, MO!

We have been teaching the art of dance to recreational and competitive level dancers since opening. We offer a variety of classes and opportunities to learn the disciplines of Tap, Jazz, Jazz Technique, Ballet, Contemporary, Lyrical, Hip Hop, and TUMBLING for students 2 years of age and older. If you are interested in trying any of our classes for FREE please check out our "classes" page to see a schedule of the classes we offer. Our students come from all over the Kansas City area to take classes from our highly qualified instructors. We have students from Raymore, Belton, Peculiar, Harrisonville, Grandview, Lee's Summit and Archie!

What started as a normal Saturday morning practice turned into a moment our four seniors will never forget!

This morning, all FOUR of our seniors were surprised with their very first official college dance team offers from the Avila University Glitter Girls for the 2027–2028 season! 💜💛

These four girls have spent years growing up together, dancing side by side, making memories, and chasing their dreams. To see all four of them receive their first college dance offers together was something truly special!

With so many Avila alumni who have been part of our Movement family, this moment was even more meaningful. And what better place to celebrate than in front of our Movement Hall of Fame, surrounded by the names of dancers who came before them and continued their passion for dance at the collegiate and professional levels. 🧡

We are SO incredibly proud of these four young ladies and all the hard work, dedication, and heart that have brought them to this moment. This is just the beginning of such an exciting journey, and we cannot wait to see what the future holds for each of you!

A huge THANK YOU to the Avila University Glitter Girls and Head Coach Cindy Freeman for recognizing our dancers and making this morning one we will never forget!

A huge thank you to Quinn Self for spending the weekend with us and setting another incredible piece for Season 17!

We’ve been lucky enough to have Quinn choreograph for our dancers for several years now, and he truly never ceases to amaze us. Year after year, he gives our groups pieces that are so perfect for them… beautiful, challenging, and something we’re always so excited and so proud to bring to the stage!

We absolutely love working with you, Quinn, and are so grateful you continue to share your time and talent with our dancers. We can’t wait for everyone to see this one. 🧡

Season 17 just got even better!

We are coining the phrase "FRIENDSday Friday" here at TMC.... because why not!?

Last weekend, we hosted our annual Company Day for season 17, dedicated to our buddies and team building activities!

Big buddies + Little buddies = one of our favorite traditions 🧡

There's something pretty special about having someone to look to, somone cheering you on, and a built-in bestie by your side all season long!

✨ MEET MISS KIRSTI! ✨

We are so excited to officially welcome Kirsti to our Movement teaching staff!

Kirsti has been part of our Movement family for the past several years as a dance mom, with both of her kiddos dancing with us and this season, we’re so happy to have her joining us in a whole new way… as one of our teachers!

You can find Miss Kirsti in the studio on Wednesdays teaching:

We are SOOOO EXCITED to wish a big CONGRATULATIONS to our 2026-2027 Pre-Company Dancers! We will be taking 28 talented and ambitious young dancers onto the competition stage this season with our Mini Movers, Rising Stars and Adaptive Company! Season 17 is off to a great start! WE’RE SO BACK!!! Season 17 starts TODAY, and we could not be more excited!

We feel incredibly blessed by the way this community has embraced The Movement & Co! With enrollment at an all-time, 17 year high, we’re heading into this season feeling more grateful and excited than ever.

We cannot wait to see what this year has in store. Here’s to new friendships, big dreams, lots of dancing, and a season full of memories we’ll never forget. 🫶

We are so excited to welcome Jana Bruce to our TMC staff for Season 17! 🧡

Jana will be teaching our NEW 18+ Adaptive Movement class, held Thursdays from 9:00–9:30 AM!

Adaptive Movement is a FREE dance class specially designed for dancers with physical and/or developmental disabilities to experience the joy that dance can bring into one’s life. 🫶

Through a differentiated curriculum focused on each dancer’s individual abilities, this class will work to foster a love of dance, build confidence, encourage self-expression through movement, and create meaningful relationships with others.

✨ Ages 18+
✨ No prerequisites
✨ FREE to participate
✨ Thursdays | 9:00–9:30 AM
✨ Dancers will have the opportunity to perform in our Spring Recital!

We are incredibly excited to expand our Adaptive Movement program to our 18+ dancers this season, and we couldn’t be happier to have Jana joining our Movement family to lead them 🧡
