To our Funktion family,

We have been lucky to have so many amazing musicians come through this band over the years, but anyone who saw us play knows the unique magic that Selara brought to the stage. He was the backbone of our sound, the heartbeat of our musical family, and an extraordinarily dear friend. Even after earning the touring drum throne for The Temptations, his dedication never wavered—he proudly declared, "I'm still Funktion's drummer."

Before we lost him, Selara was working on a collection of his own original tracks. Thanks to the incredible people who brought his vision across the finish line, his project "Lighten Up" is officially out now.
All proceeds from his music go directly to his wife and two children.

We’re asking our entire community to listen, save it, and share it far and wide. The link below lets you stream it on whichever service you use—Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon, and beyond:

Rest in power, brother. The groove never stops. ❤️

Huge thank you to the team at XL LIVE for going above and beyond advertising our show, and to John Harris for inviting us to play! They have given us incredible visibility and our best chance to bring out a huge crowd, which benefits everyone involved who loves live music.

Special shoutout to my friend Dave Norris for snapping this picture of the billboard while stuck in traffic!

This Saturday is extra special because we are celebrating John’s 75th birthday!

Hey Funktion Band family! We are working behind the scenes on something absolutely massive for New Year’s Eve this year, and we want to know who is in.

We’re currently in talks with a couple of premier local hotels to put together the ultimate All-Inclusive NYE Staycation Gala.

We’re planning a premium, top-tier gourmet dinner buffet, included drink tickets, a midnight ch*****ne toast, and a full 10-piece Funktion Band live performance. Best of all, the package includes a gorgeous hotel room for the night and breakfast the next morning, so no one has to worry about driving home.

We want to bring an incredible, upscale holiday weekend getaway to Central PA that is completely stress-free.

Drop a comment below if you and your significant other or friends would be down to ring in the New Year in style with us. Let us know where you're coming from!
