Customized unique wall art with an antique feel! I also use new wood that I put through several processes to get that aged look.

I create customized wood signs and art inspired by my love of “beautifully imperfect” antique tavern and trade signs, folk art, and Americana. I use repurposed vintage and antique wood including shutters, doors, barn planks and just about any odd piece I can find with a paintable surface! These creations are a true labor of love and time. Wood is always painstakingly cleaned before being prepped a

nd painted. I build up layer upon layer of paint to give the feeling that this sign has been around for a long time and has some history. Lettering is laid out and painted by hand—I do not use stencils. I cut out the wood embellishments using tools passed down from my grandfathers. Signs are carefully sealed with protective finishes and given proper cure time. I also don't mass produce so you are getting something truly unique! These pieces are meant to be perfectly imperfect! In case you were wondering who Junebug and Josie are, this shop is named after my two beautiful grandmothers. Family is important to me and I wanted to find a way, however small, to show my gratitude for they love they have given me my entire life. MY PIECES ARE CURRENTLY AVAILABLE AT:

When I get a custom sign request, my heart flutters whenever I read the words "rustic", "antique-feel", "barn wood"..."old". Well, by the time I was done reading the message for the sign below, my heart was practically flying out of my body!!! This was to be a special gift for my client's boyfriend - a member of the family that has owned and operated this Orrtanna, PA orchard for over 100 years (no pressure, right?!) She even had a design all ready for me - I just had to take her vision and make it work on the wood.

This sign had its challenges - the original weathered barn wood I wanted to use for this split entirely in half on my first cut. Luckily, I was able to deconstruct, cut and then reassemble some other barn wood planks that I happened to have in my stash that I had been saving for years for just the right piece. I should have known right from the start that it was meant for this orchard sign! Things have a funny way of working out like that.

Happy 2023 everyone!

It was a very busy end to 2022, THANKS TO YOU! Over the next few days I want to share a few commissioned orders with you that I was so thrilled to get the opportunity to create.

Some of you may remember the cottage sign created for Unexpected Magic back in the summer. Well, I was asked to make a 2nd version for their entryway. We changed up the theme with an art deco feel to go along with the time period of the house. I was so happy with how it turned out, as was the owner Kathy (an extremely accomplished artist in oil painting...so I was nervous again to get this one right!) Repeat business means everything to me and is very humbling! Thank you, again, to Kathy and her husband Joel for allowing me this wonderful opportunity! ❤

This should be said a lot more but I am humbly thankful for all of the support, encouragement, orders, and purchases given to Junebug and Josie since this got started. The last few months have kept me super busy creating new signs and making a mess in my little workshop! That's a great problem to have! I could not do this without you guys! THANK YOU! ❤❤
