Calling all college performers — this is your moment. 🎭
The 8th annual Dr. Doris Derby Collegiate Monologue Competition is now seeking applicants for a live virtual showcase on Let’s Talk Theatre—LIVE!

Selected finalists will perform live on Saturday, August 1, 2026 at 7:00 PM ET, and the top 4 winners will be flown to Atlanta to perform during the Atlanta Black Theatre Festival.

Bring us your strongest 2–3 minute monologue — dramatic or comedic, classical or contemporary. We’re looking for truth, presence, preparation, and the kind of storytelling that stays with people.

This is more than a competition.
It’s a platform.
It’s a spotlight.
It’s a chance to be seen.
