Today, BairFlower is officially ONE year old. 🩷🖤
And I don't really know how to write this without getting at least a little emotional about it.
A year ago, BairFlower was just an idea I decided to take a chance on. I didn't know exactly what it was going to become. I didn't have everything figured out. I just knew I wanted to create things that felt different, things that felt like me, and see where I could take it.
Somehow, an entire year has passed.
In that year, I've learned a ridiculous amount. I've changed my mind about things approximately 900 times. I've made mistakes, started over, completely changed directions, stayed up way too late working on things, and had more than a few “wait... I could make that” moments that turned into yet another product I absolutely did not need to add.
But somewhere in all of that, BairFlower became more than just something I started.
It became mine.
It found its personality. It found the pink and black, the weird, the spooky, the sweet, the slightly inappropriate, and eventually its own little home inside the Rotten Bakery.
But somewhere along the way, while I was figuring out what BairFlower was supposed to be, I think I found a little more of myself, too.
I stopped worrying quite so much about what it was *supposed* to look like and started making it look like me. I let myself be weird. I let myself try things, change things, scrap things, start over, and create whatever made me happy. And the more BairFlower became itself, the more I started feeling like myself, too.
I don't think I expected that part when I started this.
And there are actual people out there who have BairFlower things sitting in their homes, on their desks, in their kitchens, in their bags, on their bookshelves, and in their everyday lives.
That's the part that gets me.
Every order has meant that someone chose something I made. Every custom meant someone trusted me with their idea. Every share, comment, recommendation, repeat customer, and person who has stuck around to see what I come up with next has helped me get BairFlower through its first year.
There have absolutely been things that worked and things that did NOT work. There have been stressful days, frustrating days, questionable financial decisions involving craft supplies, and plenty of figuring it out as I went.
But I kept going.
And today I get to say that BairFlower has officially been here for an entire year.
I'm really freaking proud of that.
So thank you. Whether you've ordered from me, shared something I've made, interacted with a post, recommended BairFlower to somebody, supported one of my ridiculous ideas, or you've simply been here watching this little business grow — you have been part of this first year.
One whole year of creating.
One whole year of learning.
One whole year of becoming BairFlower.
And, apparently, a little bit of becoming me, too.
And we're just getting started.
Happy 1st Birthday, BairFlower. 🩷
Decadently Ruined since 2025.
