oming up with ideas has always been one of the hardest parts of making art for me—even though I’ve had a huge imagination since I was a kid. I had imaginary friends, made-up storylines, the whole thing.
Now that imagination shows up in weird little connections between music, movies, and shows. Every time I hear St. Chroma by Tyler, The Creator, I picture Lottie from Yellowjackets—just because of one specific lyric. It’s stuck in my head forever, so I had to finally get it out (virtually, of course).
Teaching myself Procreate has actually been really fun—I’ve been learning different techniques and figuring stuff out as I go. Drawing people has always kinda intimidated me, but honestly? Somewhere I still have a sketchbook full of my favorite book characters I drew in middle school, so this weirdly feels like getting back to my roots.
