The middle one here is hands down one of my favorites. It is from a really interesting and hard domestic species called Osage Orange. It nativity grows in Texas, Oklahoma and Arkansas. But dang was it hard on the chisles, I must have resharprnd 4 times for just that pen!

This slab has some serious potential. Big enough for a statement table, bench, or something completely one-of-a-kind. Hard to come by material like this—especially in a single piece.
This is why I love working from raw logs. You just don’t get scale like this any other way.
What would you turn this into?

12 months ago I picked up a stump in boise that was larger than a bicycle. This bowl will be one of a few giants to come from that piece.
