Longer (actually real time) version with its own soundtrack!

Getting closer to the goal ... two goals, actually: Real-time AND aerial aurora footage. This is one unedited shot (other than color and NR) and pretty luc...

The quintessential Alaskan experience: Go out to the shed late to check something mundane, enjoying the weird crunchy snowpack (in April?) and happen to look up. Suddenly, one's priorities shift, and focus becomes clear: Another chance to share real-time (not time lapse!) aurora over the distant mountain ranges, which look small in comparison to the sky-full of dancing curtains. Music is theremin (yes, it's real, through Gojira X) and Luftrum 18 Ark Ice Planet patch in Omnisphere 2, triggered by Harmony Bloom.

When it gets cold ... comes the opportunity to spend some time "meditating" with the ice, the river sounds, the clean air. What's not to love?

WATCH TO THE END!!! I was there and I sure was surprised too!

A cautionary tale. Never forget that we, too, are food for something. In this case, however, it's the result of wildlife becoming habituated to humans, and it likely did not end well for the little guy. More info in first comment below. Music "The Glade", and short piece from a few years ago.

Hooligan fish (eulachon) filmed in slow motion from the bridge over the Chilkoot River near Haines, Alaska. So many fishies! I added the cello and dulcimer. Fish don't play those instruments.

Between bouts of rampaging and chowing down eulachon (hooligan fish) and herring and yes, salmon, sea lions bask atop the rippling water ... apparently humans aren't the only ones that like to laze about.
