❤️ As the flooding has gotten closer to home, this has become even more personal.

Well, apparently the basket needed a little Halloween makeover. 🎃👻

I added some spooky garland, filled the basket with candy, and suddenly this went from “cute fall décor” to “DON’T TOUCH MY REESE’S.” 😂🍫

Honestly, I’m not saying this is the perfect Halloween centerpiece… but I’m also not saying I won’t eat the props. 😏

WORK. Work is where I’ve been. 😂

My super busy season at my actual job has officially slowed down my fall show prep. Because apparently, I cannot convince my day job that making adorable fabric garlands is also a legitimate emergency. 🙄😂

So…fall prep is happening. Just at the speed of a raccoon who has been distracted by literally everything. 🦝🍂

So naturally, I did what any reasonable crafter would do: I turned the survivors into a photo prop.

Because apparently I can keep fabric scraps alive long enough to make garlands, but actual plants? Absolutely not. 🤦‍♀️🌻

At least these ones are looking pretty darn good. 😂

Well... I spotted the first school bus in our community yesterday, and just like that, summer started quietly packing its bags. 🍎🚌

To all the students, teachers, bus drivers, school staff, and parents—I hope this school year is filled with new friendships, big accomplishments, lots of laughter, and just enough coffee to survive the early mornings. ☕❤️

As my little corner of the world fills up with cozy handmade garlands for classrooms, homes, and happy spaces, I'm also saying a little prayer for every child walking through those school doors. May they feel safe, encouraged, and know just how loved they are.

I’m officially **HALFWAY** to my goal of 250 followers! To all my newest followers... WELCOME! You’ve wandered into a delightful little corner of the internet filled with handmade rag garlands, creative chaos, questionable amounts of fabric, thrifted treasures, and just enough raccoon-level mischief to keep things interesting.

I’m Melissa, the maker behind Ragged Raccoon. Every garland is hand-tied by me using carefully chosen fabrics to create cozy, colorful pieces for every season. Calling all ribbon hoarders… 👀🎀

I have a very specific (and slightly ridiculous) request. I am on the hunt for ribbons, trims, and rick rack that are sitting in drawers, bins, or craft rooms collecting dust. If you have supplies you no longer need and would love to see them find a new home, I would be honored to give them a second life.

I have a new idea and these little treasures can become part of something new instead of being tossed aside.

So if you have a stash you’ve outgrown, inherited, or just know you’ll never get around to using… send me a message! I’d love to rescue your ribbons and give them a chance to shine again. ❤️
