A move from the archives of 2024:
Fun fact: I was the teacher of this class and not the student.
I miss teaching intermediate hoop! There was so much camaraderie in bringing moves to class that *seemed* achievable - and often times were like this gem 🙌 I might be different from other polers/aerialists in that I enjoyed this class style where it was very much the vibe of “teachers are students too, let’s figure this out together with plenty of spotting and safety”. It was very much a bonding experience whereas in a lot of classes usually, the instructor is put on a pedestal and expected to come prepared with ample ability to do everything in the class plan. But that isn’t always feasible in my opinion and doesn’t leave room for learning beyond your current knowledge base esp if other instructors in the area aren’t teaching the move or you don’t have ample access to an apparatus or a spotter. I appreciate the messy parts of learning and feeling human with other humans rather than aiming for perfection.
Sound on 🔉 to experience said camaraderie 👯♀️🩷
