Have you seen the signs around town or at local schools about Summer Youth Employment?
I wanted to take a moment to explain the process because sometimes these programs are not always explained clearly.
This is a program offered in both Cattaraugus and Allegany Counties. The counties work with local businesses to build partnerships and create summer employment opportunities for youth throughout our communities.
One of the biggest questions we hear is:“Is my child eligible?”
Eligibility is based on household income guidelines, which are listed below.
What does your child need to do to sign up?
Simply attend one of the sign-up events happening throughout the county and bring the following:
• Birth certificate ✅
• Social Security card ✅
• Work permit (if under 18)✅
• Photo ID and/or report card ✅
If the participant is under 18, a parent or guardian should attend as well.
