Breath or connect. When you find yourself out of connection with story, your partner, you own body, when your mind is racing and your thinking "what the heck am I doing?"; take a breath and find something real to connect to. For example; the sparkle in your partners eyes, the feeling of clothing on your skin, something real that you hear, the sensation of your breath inspiring your body. Breath. Then connect.
