Gracie Belle ended her day yesterday with a little rainbow after the storm! She’s hoping for a bit more rain soon to help out our farmers—maybe next week!

Under the watchful eye of Gracie Belle, Farmer Bill McNeill worked the LCFB land this morning. Gracie Belle is thrilled—after all, the corn will become her silage snack stash later this year!
She also asked us to pass along an important moo-sage: please be extra careful on the roads this spring. Tractors and farm equipment are big, slow, and need space—kind of like Gracie Belle after her third breakfast. Give them time and room to do their thing!

I swear I didn’t kick over a candle to start “The Great Farm Bureau Fire”!
Thanks to everyone who posted on social media asking if I was ok. Wednesday night, a fire broke out by my home. I had a birds-eye view of all the action. A lot of nice firemen pulled up in big red trucks and put water on the fire. There was some damage to the building, but no one was hurt. I am happy to report things are much quieter now and they are fixing the building. Please stop out and see me soon. Have a nice weekend and thanks for thinking of me! - Gracie Belle

I have a name! Thanks so much to my parents (the Lake County Farm Bureau) for announcing my name LIVE on WGN Ch 9 today! Thanks to Midday News Anchors Patrick Elwood & Dina Bair for letting our Executive Director Greg Koeppen share my name with all their viewers! Over 60 people showed up and surprised me today and they were treated to milk, cookies and Culver's custard. Watch this WGN segment and see what my name is:!

LCFB Cow Name Unveiling Invitation
(REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED)
Wednesday, Nov 15 11:30am – 12:30pm

We are excited to share that after receiving 870 submissions, we will be announcing the official name of our new LCFB Cow on Wednesday, Nov 15th @ Noon! The WGN-TV Ch. 9 Midday News will have a camera crew at our office 70 US Hwy 45 Grayslake for the official announcement that will air LIVE on WGN-TV Ch 9 sometime between 12pm-12:30pm. We are inviting members of the general public to stop out, enjoy some milk and cookies and be in the background of the WGN cameras as we unveil her new name! Due to limited parking at our office, we are restricting attendance to 100 vehicles (you can bring up to 4 people in your vehicle). Attendees MUST arrive at the Lake County Farm Bureau Office by 11:30am and plan on staying until 12:30pm. If you would like to attend, please email Greg Koeppen [email protected] by Friday, November 9th @ Noon with your full name, names of those attending, email address and cell # (as a reminder, you must ALL arrive in the same car). We are asking that you only RSVP if you are certain you can attend.

The first 100 people who respond will secure a parking spot. Others will be placed on a waiting list. If you are one of the first 100, you will be notified via email by 5pm Saturday Nov 11 and receive your official parking pass. If you do not receive an email by then, it means all of the parking spaces have been filled. We will add those additional names to a waiting list and contact you by Noon on Tuesday Nov 14 IF there is an opening. If you do not hear back from us, PLEASE DO NOT SHOW UP on November 15th as we will not have space for your vehicle. We are looking forward to a great day as our cow finally gets her name!!
