On September 11, choir director Dr. Emmanuel de Leon Jr., choir archivist Gary Eberle, and composer Nicholas Palmer gathered to begin shaping something extraordinary. Their vision will unite the 40th anniversary of the Fountain Street Church Oratorio Choir’s annual memorial concert with a significant New York City performance by the FSC Adult Choir in 2027.

If you attended or streamed last Sunday’s worship service, you may have already caught the first hint of what lies ahead. As Rev. Nathan Dannison puts it, this work is “not a capstone, but a foundation stone” for what is on the horizon for the music program of Fountain Street Church and the wider communities of which it is a part.

Stay tuned—and please consider supporting this exciting endeavor!

Over the past two weeks, the FSC Adult Choir has resumed rehearsals in preparation for a new season of worship. During its annual two-day Choir Camp, members studied new music and explored vocal technique, posture, diction, score navigation and marking, and the fundamentals of conducting. The choral scholars, choir director, and Todd Wilkie led the sessions. The camp was with careful planning by the choir director and choir board.

On Thursday, Noah Smith joined the choir as it prepared for tomorrow’s Celebration Sunday, launching the 2026–27 program year and its theme, Sacred Harmonies.

Join us for worship tomorrow and throughout the new season!
