Proud to say that today I am celebrating 14 years with Square Peg Events, LLC. - vanGogh's birthday, too !!
My official titles have been: Chief of Charm, Executive Producer and now, fondly, Professional Chicken Hugger.
I am proud of what has been accomplished and excited for the future. I couldn’t have done it without the incredible mentors I have had in my life. My whole team of volunteers, interns, contract workers, friends and family too. I even want to thank all the pushy broads and whiney men who taught me patience.

6th Annual Live Mannequins in St Joseph, MI, THIS FRIDAY!
We have had a BLAST grooving through the planning of this year's event with our Awesome Partner --- St. Joseph Today
Watch storefronts and windows of participating downtown businesses come alive from 7 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. Volunteers from the community will pose perfectly still, like mannequins. This event is free to the public and a wonderful way to get into the holiday spirit!
Celebrate the spirit of friendly competition at the Live Mannequins After Party held at the Box Factory for the Arts from 8:30-10 p.m.; doors open at 8 p.m. Enjoy live music by Jack Adams and a cash bar until the winners are announced at 9:45 p.m.

We want to give a huge thank you to all those who participated in the Progressive Tasting: W(h)ine in the Winter, Grand Rapids!
Our first stop was at the Grand Rapids Art Museum where we created fun wine glasses and chatted about the museum. The second stop was at Reserve Wine & Food. They knocked it out of the park by showing us their outdoor deck and their secret (but well known) wine cellar and vault. Cool digs! Thank you, Peter Marantette for taking the extra time. Our final stop was Lumber Baron Bar. They showered us with great wine, paired with the perfect food tastings. This place is one of the local favorite hiding spots. Another shout to the one and only, Eddie Tadlock for being the best of the best Guest Guides. He paved the way to awesome.

This week we revealed our 37th Annual Grand Rapids Magazine Dining Award winners on Facebook. This year, we presented awards in a new format, our Top 10 Restaurants in Grand Rapids, plus Best New Restaurant and Restaurant of the Year. Given the surge in fusion cooking, we no longer specified categories for these Awards of Excellence.

And now it's time for our final award, RESTAURANT OF THE YEAR. We are extremely pleased to present the Grand Rapids Magazine Dining Award of Excellence for RESTAURANT OF THE YEAR to ... Reserve Wine & Food!
If you're going to knock off the winner of the past four Restaurant of the Year awards (Grove) then you have to do something exceptional, or in this case, many things. Reserve got its start in September 2010, embracing local farms and artisanal products, building its menu around classic dishes made from the best ingredients at their season's peak. The restaurant might be known for its charcuterie and cheeses, but it has so much more to offer - from fresh seafood and meats to more than 100 wines available by the glass. Reserve also offers some interesting features for private events, like the Vault, the Champagne Room & Lounge and the Loft.
Congratulations to the ownership and staff at Reserve, this year's award winner as RESTAURANT OF THE YEAR.
