The Avalon Theatre Foundation

The Avalon Theatre Foundation The Avalon Theatre Foundation, Inc. is a private non-profit created to renovate and restore the Avalon Theatre.

is a private, non-profit organization founded in 1991 by Pat Gormley. Its original mission was the historic restoration of the beautiful Romanesque Revival building. It successfully undertook a fundraising effort that provided for the restoration of the theater's original 1923 façade. The Foundation continues to center its mission on historic preservation, generational heritage, and the continued

commercial operations of The Avalon Theatre. Today, it embodies an added sense of responsibility and vision aimed at propelling the facility into a true civic auditorium capable of accommodating a wider range of uses that support significantly improved commercial and cultural benefits to the community.

At the Avalon Theatre Foundation, our purpose is simple: to drive continuous improvements to our historic theatre for the benefit of our entire community. 🎟️✨

But what does that actually mean? It means we listen to you. When our community shares feedback on how to make the Avalon experience better for performers, patrons, and events, we take action.

A prime example? Our Diann Admire Dressing Room project!

When looking back at the original 2012 architectural renderings for the theatre’s renovation, a dressing room was actually part of the initial mezzanine area plans. After hearing directly from artists and our community about the need for dedicated, updated backstage prep spaces, we brought that original vision back to life in a different, more ideal location within the theatre. 🎭✨

Swipe/Look to check out the original 2012 mezzanine plans that sparked the idea! 📸

We’re proud to turn community feedback into real improvements. Thank you for being a part of the Avalon's story!
