From Co-Owner Mark :
Kyranthia, as most of you know, began in 2012. Since then, the rulebook has undergone many revisions. As with any long-running game, some rules will have "unintended changes" in gameplay and the overall enjoyment of players at all levels.
Bethany and I made a promise to Ben to keep Kyranthia true to its original vision, and updating the rulebook is part of that commitment. Former GM Ben Ring has also helped us finalize this list of rule corrections.
For more than a year, we have been reviewing player feedback and evaluating areas of the game that could benefit from clarification or improvement. After careful consideration, we have narrowed our focus down to just seven items that we are clarifying and/or implementing effective immediately. Many of these changes are the direct result of your PELs, in-person suggestions, and concerns.
The 2026 Rulebook Addendum has been posted on the website: https://kyranthialarp.com/addendums/. The items listed in the addendum supersede any existing rules, plot cards, or items currently in use that conflict with these updates.
This addendum covers the following topics:
• Three items related to magic use.
• One item related to resetting armor points, along with a clarification.
• One item related to event safety and campfires.
• One clarification regarding a rule frequently asked about by both players and NPCs.
• A new rule for Smithing and Smelting in advance of a planned and potentially significant overhaul of one of our crafting systems.
We will continue listening to your feedback as we work to improve Kyranthia. These changes are being tested as part of our ongoing effort to refine and strengthen the game before considering any permanent rulebook revisions in the future.

Thank you all for being members of our Kyranthia Family. We look forward to reading your feedback on this matter in your PELs!
